The base of my antenna was cracked and falling apart. The material on the tip was also missing entirely. In addition, it became less rigid and would actually rub against the spoiler when I opened my hatch.
So this is my third part purchased from a guy in California parting out his Sportcross. Yes, there are new aftermarket ones for the car on Amazon and such. But many reviews said it doesn’t thread all the way down to the base when fully tightened. That would drive me nuts.
But one minor thing fixed. Productive year this far!

I saw a Paseo wagon in Renton or Kent today, I think it was dark grey.

Nicely done!
Want to come replace the antenna on my 4Runner? It’s a power antenna and the gears are stripped like they all do, so it’s just “up” - oh and you can’t even see the motor from the engine bay so I have no idea how you’d even get to it.

I politely decline. I did my time with a broken power antenna on my Integra. If it did decide to move, it would sound like a wailing robot getting a boulder shoved up his ass.

That last sentence is fantastic, even without the context.
